It’s Impossible to get All Your Nutrients from Food! I wish I could tell you to eat a balanced diet and that’s all you would need to be healthy, but I can't. Do you remember when manure and compost was used to fertilize soils? Back then, this replenished the earth with nutrients, and food grown in this soil was healthier. But today’s fertilizers designed basically to increase crops not to nourish them, yield crops with no reasonable amounts of all the essential trace elements according to a fourteen year study done by the Colgan Institute of Nutritional Science in San Diego. Tests were conducted by the National Food Review Board on nutrient levels in fresh, canned, and frozen food. Fresh-from-the-farm peas, when cooked, lost 56% of their nutrients. Frozen food, when cooked, lost 83% of their nutritional value and after cooking canned food, practically nothing was left -- 95% of the nutrients were gone. Many scientific food studies have concluded that even if you ate a perfectly balanced diet, you will have nutritional deficiencies. The fertilizers, the pesticides, the additives, the processing, the preservatives, the overcooking, etc., etc., destroys valuable nutrients that you need to maintain a healthy life. What’s the answer? Of course, taking vitamin, mineral and herb supplements are the answer. People are tired of being sick and tired. The doctors haven’t helped.
